Requesting Exam/Desk Copies

1. How can I request a desk or exam copy of an eBook or print book? How long does the exam period last?

eBooks:

To request a desk/exam copy of an eBook, please first create an account on Fairchild Books Store. Then visit the specific book’s webpage on the platform, select the eBook + STUDIO option and in the instructor’s module on the right hand side of the page, please select ‘exam/inspection copy’ as seen in the image below:

Upon approval by your Fairchild Books Account Manager, you should expect to receive your complimentary print copy for adoption consideration in 7 – 10 business days. Access to digital exam copies is for 90 days; once a book is adopted, instructors may notify their Account Manager who can grant perpetual access. Please note that access is granted at the discretion of the sales team.

Print books:

To request a desk/exam copy of a print book, please first create an account on Fairchild Books Store. Then visit the specific book’s webpage on the platform, select the paperback + STUDIO or hardback + STUDIO  option and in the instructor’s module on the right hand side of the page, please select ‘exam/inspection copy’.  Upon approval by your Fairchild Books Account Manager, you should expect to receive your complimentary print copy for adoption consideration in 7 – 10 business days.

2. I was sent an eBook exam or desk copy, but I am having trouble with the download, or the download link expired.

To report difficulty with a download or download link, please contact our customer service. If your download link expired, please contact your Account Manager.

3. I ordered an exam copy through Fairchild Books Store. Where do I go to submit my feedback?

You may submit your feedback directly to your Account Manager or you may submit feedback on the Fairchild Books Store Contact Us form. Please select "Content Feedback" in the Inquiry drop-down.

4. I received an extra book, or I have decided not to adopt the text. Do I have to return my desk/exam copy?

You may continue to keep the book and use it as reference or share with a colleague who may find it useful for his or her course.

5. Can I get a free trial?

You may request access to STUDIO resources or exam copies of specific titles by contacting your Account Manager directly or by submitting a request on the particular book’s webpage. You may try using the content in your course to determine if it is best suited for adoption.
